Maricopa County Wins 56 National Achievement Awards

Maricopa County received 56 National Achievement Awards this year from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for programs that have a measurable positive impact on the community.  This accounted for 7% of all awards given to states and counties this year.  Almost a dozen of the awards were for the county's response to COVID-19, including their development of the COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker and Locator app, which helped them achieve their vaccination distribution goals in just over three months.  Additional awards were given for the county's work on elections and water resources, including the Flood Control District's coveted “Best in category” award for its “Water Resources Program” which promotes regional solutions and partnerships to better manage stormwater and mitigation flood risk.  Please join us in congratulating the county for this amazing achievement!
