NASA DEVELOP, the Applied Sciences Capacity Building division of NASA, works with local partners and universities to help solve real-world environmental issues within the application areas of Disasters, Ecological Forecasting, Energy, Food Security & Agriculture, Health & Air Quality, Transportation & Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Water Resources. The DEVELOP teams partner with community organizations or local governments on these applied projects, at no charge to the partners, in an effort to build capacity of the participants and partners to use NASA data and GIS technology for enhanced decision making.
ASU, a NASA DEVELOP site, is currently seeking project ideas for this spring. Projects are completed in 10 weeks by small groups of NASA DEVELOP program participants, often including students and graduates from Arizona universities, and local partners. If you know of an organization that may be interested in this type of collaboration opportunity and is trying to make a decision on how to address an environmental issue, please contact develop.arizonatempe@gmail.com.
