ASU Career Navigator Site Now Includes Interviews with GIS Professionals

With the precautions everyone is taking in today's world, meeting with and shadowing professionals in the GIS field or even participating in internships have been met with difficulties.  To help current students wishing to learn more about the potential GIS careers that are available, ASU's School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning have put together a series of videos on their Career Navigation website that highlight the different career paths taken by professionals with degrees in geography, GIS, or urban planning.  The video library includes interviews with several AGIC Leaders, including:

  • Jenna Leveille, Deputy State Cartographer, Arizona State Land Department
  • Eric Shreve, 911 Network Engineer, Arizona Department of Administration (formally with the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs and 2021 AGIC Vice-Chair)
  • Patrick Whiteford, Geospatial Analysis Section Manager, Arizona Department of Transportation
  • Mark Christiano, GIS Coordinator, U.S. Forest Service Kaibab National Forest

To learn more about the new website, check out the article "Explore future careers in geography, GIS and urban planning from the comforts of home."  To access the new ASU Career Navigator website and watch the videos, click the link below.
