Growing wildfires, historic droughts, continued population growth and decreasing biodiversity are issues that continue to challenge Arizona.  Two decades ago, Arizona emerged as a national leader in developing strategies to combat these issues: The Northern Arizona Forest Fund and Pollinator Habitat Initiative, The Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan, and the Arizona Water Initiative are a few examples.  Geospatial technologies are now a hub for natural resource inquiries and management. Remote sensing and geographic information systems provide valuable insight for making data driven decisions relating to sustainable development and the preservation of natural resources.

The AGIC Natural Resources Workgroup is excited to host a second installment of the AGIC Natural Resources Presentation Series! Please join us for A Geospatial Focus on Forest Health and Protection on April 28th from 1 - 4PM.  We have an amazing lineup of presentations from ASU Kyl Center for Water Policy, AZ Department of Forest and Fire Management, US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, NAU Ecological Restoration Institute.
